Count the hidden cubes too: total = cubes per layer × number of layers

Volume is the space an object takes up, and we measure it with unit cubes (like 1 cm cubes). In a stacked prism you can only see the outside — the cubes hiding underneath can’t be seen, but they are really there! Light up the prism layer by layer and count: total = cubes per layer × number of layers.
A prism is stacked from unit cubes. Tap “Light next layer” to light and count it cube by cube — and don’t forget the cubes hiding below! Then check your total.
