Round to the Nearest Hundred

Round to the closer hundred

About This Practice

Carry the “find the closer one” instinct from tens up to hundreds. A three-digit number sits between two hundreds; Guided mode adds ten-marks to help you measure, Standard mode drops the labels, and in Challenge the number may not even be a multiple of ten. Tap the closer hundred — exactly halfway (like 350) rounds up by convention.

A three-digit number lands on the number line between two neighboring hundreds. The guided level draws ten-tick subdivisions so you can count the distance, then tap the closer hundred. Numbers exactly in the middle (like 350) round up by convention—extending rounding intuition from tens to hundreds.

How to Play

  1. Locate the number and the two hundreds on either side.
  2. Compare its distance to each side using the ten-marks or mental math.
  3. Tap the closer hundred and press “Check”.
  4. Read the insight line to confirm how far each side is.
  5. In Challenge there are no marks — estimate first, then tap.
