Median & Mode

After sorting, the middle dot is the median and the most frequent value is the mode

About This Practice

A data set has several representatives for its "typical" value: the mean, the median, and the mode. The median is the middle dot after lining everything up smallest to largest; the mode is the value that shows up most often. Some data sets have no mode, and some have two—come meet all these cases yourself.

Scattered dots march into a sorted line—tap to light up the middle dot (or two) for the median, and crown the tallest stack as the mode.
