As many “same-sized groups” — that many times

Loading...

About This Practice

“Times” describes a share relationship between two quantities: blue is one share, and if red holds that many equal shares, red is that many times blue. Tap “Add a share / Remove a share” to watch red grow share by share while the multiple updates. “As many equal groups means that many times” becomes visible.

Blue is one share; red grows share by share. When red has 3 “same-sized groups”, red is 3 times blue. Tap “Add a share / Remove a share” to watch the times-relationship change.

  4. Tap “Remove a share” and watch the multiple shrink.
  5. Say it out loud: red is how many times blue?
