Classifying Triangles

By angles: all acute = acute triangle, one 90° = right triangle, one over 90° = obtuse triangle

About This Practice

Triangles come in three types by their angles: acute triangles have all three angles under 90°; right triangles have exactly one 90° angle; obtuse triangles have one angle over 90°. Every triangle has at least two acute angles, so the key is to find the largest angle.

A random triangle appears — read its three angles and decide whether it is acute, right, or obtuse. A correct answer lights up a green glow box and explains the reason.

How to Play

  1. Read the degree of each of the three angles.
  2. Find the largest angle: is it below, equal to, or above 90°?
  3. All three under 90° → acute triangle.
  4. One exactly 90° → right triangle.
  5. One above 90° → obtuse triangle. Tap a button and check the feedback.
